Going Beyond Organic

I am so excited to share with you some things that I've been learning lately. I have always tried to eat healthy. I grow a lot of my own vegetables and herbs every year and I try to buy as much organic food as possible. But I know that I could be doing so much better if I had healthier options to feed my family.

Recently I had the opportunity to meet Jordan Rubin in person. Jordan is the author of The Maker's Diet and founder of the supplement company-Garden of Life. He spoke to a group of us about the food choices we make and shed some light on the often confusing labeling system you find in health-food stores. For example, I was shocked to learn that for a company to sell “organic, grass fed beef”, they only have to feed their cows 30% grass. And the Horizon “raw” cheese is still pasteurized--just one degree below the official pasteurized level.

Jordan also discussed how dependent and even addicted we are to the industrial food machine that supplies us with most of the food we eat. (Food Inc.)

That really got me thinking about how I want my family to be eating. By changing our diet, I know that we are going to have a greater ability to resist and fight off any disease that tries to attack our bodies. I believe, and medical science backs it up, that the drugs and hormones we ingest by eating "industrial" foods affects our physical and emotional well being.

After meeting Jordan, my husband and I have teamed up with him on a new line of organic products that will be available to the general public in October. And when Jordan says his products are organic, he means 100% organic. Jordan will oversee the process from start to finish and the product will be delivered straight to front doors. The New company is called Beyond Organic because Jordan takes great care to see that the products are not just at standards the FDA requires, but beyond. He’s even cultivating the land and raising the animals the way the Bible instructs.

Here are some of the products that will available:
  • Grass-fed and finished beef that is organic and kosher. It will not be slaughtered until CLA levels are high. Grain fed cattle has no CLA.
  • Probiotic infused water which comes from a quartz vein to a spring on Jordan's property.
  • Raw organic cheese that is really raw-not pasteurized to just a degree below legal pasteurization. They are infused with probiotics and no coloring is added.
The food is not available to the general public right now, but you can sign up by "invitation only" to become an insider now. This will make available to you special compensation incentives that will only last until launch in October. If you are interested, I can give you the "invitation" link where you can sign up and learn more about the products.

If you have any questions, please let me know.  There is no charge to sign up now.  You can learn more about it on the link when you sign up!

  3. I think it is important to eat products that are free of steroids, additives etc., the issue though becomes the cost to purchase them. Please keep us informed:)

  4. Dede, I think these are going to be priced somewhere right in the middle of what you're used to seeing with organic food!

  5. Hello love your post! I speak on the same terms teaching and sharing about our food chain. My product (excuse me if this sounds like a shameless plug) it's not intended to be. I am continuing the Haven Family tradition of farming and ranching Naturally!

Authentic Haven Brand 100% natural Soil conditioner teas are harvested from my grass fed and finished livestock raise free of GMO/GE tainted feed, antibiotics, growth hormones and pesticides. My garden Soil products are harvested from a Closed Loop!

it is extremely important for us to pay close attention to what products we use in our gardens with special attention to our edible gardens.

USDA/EPA do not require toxic testing of compost coming from Green Waste Recycling Center which has for years been packaged and sold to consumers as Organic (it's organic material but not toxic free)

USDA/EPA does not require tracking of GMO/GE feed and pesticides used on crops prior to becoming feed so it's up to the Organic farmers/dairyman to do their own testing of their feed now and many are finding issues with GMO/GE tainted feed being fed their livestock

  6. Annie, yes, amen & halleluia! You are so right about the things you mentioned above. Right now, Jordan Rubin is only selling his products that he personally raises, prepares or slaughters, packs and ships. He wants to be able to monitor the whole process. I will send you a private message when I get home from work!
