Truth Is...

Truth is, you can't give what you don't have.  If you don't have peace, you can't bring peace into a situation.  If you have no joy, you bring no life to the party.  If you don't have love, what can you impart to your children.  The truth is, if you don't have it, then you can't give it!

Truth is, fear is a prison.  It will keep you from people and jobs and adventures and love. Fear keeps you believing that you have to shield yourself from everyone and everything. The truth is, fear is a prison.

Truth is, you are responsible for the gifts and talents that have been entrusted to you.  God can put the dream in your heart, the talent in your hands, voice or body, but you must develop it and make it grow.  The truth is, it's up to you whether your gifts are used or not.

Truth is, what you do today is important because you're exchanging a day of your life for it. You can make it count or it can slide by, blurring into the next day and the next.  It doesn't have to be big to count. It can be a hug or smiles or a simple kind word.  It can be a small step taken towards a goal you are striving to reach.  The truth is, it's a day you are giving from your life.

Truth is, gratitude turns what we have into enough!  When we begin to look around at the gifts we have in our life and become thankful, it brings a closeness to the One who gave us those gifts.  The truth is, gratitude makes our life plenty.

When the Lord reveals certain truths to us, we should let them become real in our lives. We should take hold of those truths because they are grace from Him.  We can look to Him and say, "You've made my life sweeter."  I will worship Him all the days of my life for revealing new truths to me every day!  What truths is the Lord revealing to you that are bringing you closer to Him in your everyday walk?

I'm linking up with Paula Ebert on Worship Wednesdays.  Hop over there and see what others are saying about worship!

  1. This is so awesome. I love reading your words of inspiration and encouragement. But isn't true that people forget to look at the gifts that God has giving us to be empowered and flourish. Many times people will look at what they don't have when in reality they should look at what they already have - God has giving us what we need to succeed - we just need to look harder.
    Have a wonderful weekend :)

    1. That is so true, Barbara! The "truths" that He gives us in our lives lead us to many more riches than "things" given to us! Gratitude is the key!
Have a wonderful rest of the week!

  2. truth is... love it! I find that gratitude is the answer to most of my problems. It is difficult to be in worry, fear, uninspired... when I'm feeling grateful and with an attitude of gratitude (may sound silly... it's the truth, tho!).

Have a fabulous rest of the week!

    1. Pamela, why do we make it so difficult to do that. You are so right and it sounds so simple. I guess we get our eyes off our blessings and on our circumstances! Thank you so much for your kind words! You are a blessing.

  6. Erin,
Truth is... these are fantastic truths, and put together so well.
Truth is... you have taken the talents the Lord has given you and are developing them and using them to touch the lives of others. What a heart you have for Him and for others.
Keep being true to your heart (which is actually His heart in you).
    Blessings and love,
    Susan

    1. Those words mean more to you than you will ever know, Susan. It's hard to know if we are leaving an impact on the world and it's helps so much to hear from others when we are.
      You are a blessing!
      Love you!

  8. Beautiful post, Erin. It really made me stop and think about all of the truths God so sweetly whispers to me all day long. I'm learning to listen to Him more. The world screams so loudly, we have to stop in order to hear His whisper. Thanks for linking up! I love this!

I'll be thinking about this one for a long time:
